Medicel is a privately held biotechnology company headquartered in Espoo, Finland. The company was founded in March 2001 with the mission of developing new technologies to speed up the transition from the component centric- to a system centric research paradigm. During the past four years we have developed an industrial strength SW platform for the discovery of biological systems. In the new Medicel Integrator platform we introduce solutions to many of the present data integration problems and the limitations of platform functionality.

To raise the productivity of biological research, we have developed extensive libraries of wet lab- and in silico research methods. We make them available to our customer as part of the Medicel Integrator platform.

Unicellular organisms provide excellent environments for basic systems research. A rate limiting factor in the industrialization of systems biology in such organisms has been the lack of an automated cultivation, perturbation and sampling environment. For that purpose we have developed the Medicel Explorer product family.
